Hull City Council have teamed up with Safer Roads Humber and award-winning child safety experts Good Egg Safety CIC to deliver a series of free child car seat safety events. Designed to prevent life-threatening installation errors and give parents and carers added peace of mind.
The events take place across Hull, offering families expert checks and advice to ensure their car seats are correctly installed and fully compatible with their vehicle and child.
When the events ran last year, data revealed that more than half (59%) of the 259 child seats checked in Hull, between May 2024 and March 2025, by Good Egg Safety, were incorrectly fitted. Over one quarter (25%) had major errors or were incompatible with the vehicle or child, which could result in serious harm in a collision.
Properly installed child car seats are paramount for safeguarding young passengers during travel, making events like these crucial for raising awareness and promoting best practices.
