Hackney Carriage vehicles are allowed to operate in the same way as private hire vehicles.
They can use the council's Hackney Carriage ranks. They can pick up passengers when hailed in the street.
In Hull, 170 licensed Hackney Carriages are operating from three ranks located in the city centre -
- Queens Gardens - on Alfred Gelder Street, next to the Wilson Centre and across the road from The Empress pub
- Hull Paragon Interchange - outside the front of the station on Ferensway
- Lowgate - outside O’Leary’s Bar
