Walk Description
- Start your walk at the junction of National Avenue and Setting Dyke footpath, between Briarfield Road and Wises Farm Road, take the grassed footpath on the right (North side of Setting Dyke Drain) and follow the footpath west
- On reaching County Road North, cross the busy road, and continue along the public footpath
- Cross the service road between Cropton Road and Bricknell Playing Fields and continue on the footpath
- Near the railway line, you will need to turn right and follow the public footpath through the woodland
- As you pass a footbridge on your left, proceed straight ahead along the segregated footway and cycle track that connects to Boldron Mews
- Turn right at the junction with Dent Road and carry on walking to the Bishop Alcock Road junction
- Turn right, follow the footway passing a school sports ground on the right
- Turn right at the next T junction and walk to Hotham Road North
- Cross Hotham Road North and turn left
- On reaching Bricknell Avenue, turn right
- At the Bricknell Avenue/National Avenue junction, cross National Avenue, then turn right and follow the footway
- On reaching the National Avenue and County Road North junction, cross the road
- Continue walking along National Avenue, where you will arrive back at the starting point
Features of Interest
Bishop Alcock Road was the 20th-century home of Hull Grammar School, which was founded in 1330 and endowed in 1479 by Bishop John Alcock.
